Manitowoc County just surpassed another COVID-19 milestone, and it is not a good one.
After Yesterday’s report from the Health Department where 49 new cases were added, Manitowoc County is now over 7,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The 49 new cases reported is the highest single-day number since January 15th.
Also in the report were 22 new recoveries, which brings that total up to 6,178 since the start of the pandemic, and leaves 789 cases still active.
In some more bad news, one more Manitowoc County Resident has died from the virus as well, raising the total to 61. This individual was between the ages of 66 and 75 and was a resident of Manitowoc.
Manitowoc is still the hardest hit portion of the County, accounting for 48.8% of the cases, and roughly two-thirds of the deaths. Two Rivers is the next hardest hit, as 17% of all cases come from the Cool City, along with roughly a tenth of all deaths.
In Sheboygan County, it was a much different story yesterday.
Only 15 new cases were added, alongside 53 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,506 confirmed cases, 12,031 recoveries, and 353 cases that remain active.
They did not have any new deaths, leaving that total at 122.
