The COVID-19 numbers in Manitowoc County continue to look promising, as another milestone was reached over the weekend.
According to the reports issued by the Manitowoc County Health Department, only 24 new cases were confirmed between Friday and Sunday, while 102 patients fully recovered, which leaves the total active case count at 499. This is the first time the number has been below 500 since the September 23rd report.
In total, 7,149 cases have been confirmed since the start of the pandemic, and 6,589 people have recovered.
In more good news, there were no new deaths over the weekend, leaving that total at 61 for the 11th straight day.
The number of patients hospitalized in the Northeast Region of Hospitals also fell significantly over the last three days. Only 39 patients are in local and area ICU beds, which is a decline of 16. That number has not been that low ever since the Health Department began reporting those numbers on November 10th.
In Sheboygan County, the latest report from the Division of Public Health on Friday saw 23 new cases confirmed, and 34 people recover. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12, 644 cases, 12,301 recoveries, and leaves 218 cases active.
They also didn’t report any new deaths, leaving their death toll at 125.
