Evelyn D. Flegle, age 92, died peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Northland Lodge in Two Rivers where she lived the last seven and a half years.
Evelyn was born on June 4, 1928 to Theodore and Clara (Walters) Brull. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1946. Evelyn met the love of her life, Howard Flegle at the east side ice skating rink in 1942. They wed on October 4, 1947 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Howard preceded her in death on October 21, 2013. Evelyn worked as a waitress at the Empire Restaurant and the Two Rivers Elks Club; and served fish lunches at the Labor Hall for many years. In later years, she worked at Paragon Electric, retiring in 1992. For the next 12 years, Howard and Evelyn spent part of the winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish and enjoyed singing in the Coming Home Funeral Choir.
Survivors include her four children: Joy (Jerry) Walters and Allan (Karen) Flegle, all of Two Rivers, Bonnie Bonin of Burnsville, MN, and Pat (Mary) Flegle of Neenah. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Clara Brull; her husband, Howard; three great-grandchildren: Jake Walters, and infants: Morgan & Ericka; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Emma (Funk) Flegle; sisters and brothers-in-law: Alice (Sylvester) Dobinski and Mildred (Robert) Dodge; and other in-laws: Elaine (Ralph) Schuetze and Carol (William) Grenier.
The family would like to thank the staff at Northland Lodge and Heartland Hospice for their thoughtfulness and excellent care extended to Evelyn.
A private family service will be held, with entombment in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
