If you exclude Holidays and the two days that the State COVID-19 reporting system was down, it has been eight months since the last time the Manitowoc County Health Department reported zero new cases of the virus.
That is not the case anymore, as for the first time since June 10th, 2020, no one tested positive in Manitowoc County yesterday (February 15th).
That combined with 31 recoveries means that the pandemic totals are continuing to show promise that there is light at the end of the tunnel. In total, 7,149 people have caught the virus, while 6,620 people have recovered, and 468 cases remain active.
In more positive news, the death toll also remained stagnant at 61, the same place it has been since February 4th. Also, the number of people hospitalized for the coronavirus continues to set record lows every day, as that number fell two more points, down to 37.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, their numbers also continue to show promise.
22 new cases were reported yesterday by the Division of Public Health. While that may seem like more than they had been reporting, that number covers all positive tests received on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, averaging out to just over 7 new cases per day.
They also reported 63 recoveries and no new deaths, meaning their pandemic totals now sit at 12,666 confirmed cases, 12,364 recoveries, 125 deaths, and 177 cases remaining active.
