While the number of new cases of COVID-19 is slowly rising each day in Manitowoc County, so is the number of vaccines administered.
In yesterday‘s (February 23rd) report from the Health Department, 14 new cases were confirmed raising the pandemic total up to 7,204. There were no new deaths, leaving that total at 63, while the number of people hospitalized rose by three to 38.
On the vaccination front, 179 new vaccines were administered in the entire County, with 95 of those being first doses. This brings the total number of vaccines administered up to 16,543, with 11,853 of those having only received the first dose. 4,690 people have received both doses, which means roughly 15% of all County residents have received at least one dose, and 5.86% completely immunized.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, two more people passed away due to COVID-19 complications. According to the most recent report from the Division of Public Health, these individuals were both over the age of 80, and bring their death toll up to 128.
Also, 30 new cases were confirmed, alongside 18 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,802 cases, and 12,533 recoveries, with 141 cases remaining active.
