The man who allegedly robbed a store on the east side of Green Bay on Tuesday (March 2nd) has been arrested.
Green Bay Police say that 37-year-old Lawrence Watkins of Green Bay was responsible for the robbery of the Superior Discount Liquor store.
Patrol officers were able to collect enough information to lead to Watkins’ arrest, which occurred without incident. It is being reported that the gun that was used in the robbery was a pellet gun that looked like a real handgun.
In a post on Facebook, Police Chief Andrew Smith voiced his pride in his patrol officers, saying “I am proud of the tenacity of our officers and the great police work that resulted in the arrest of Mr. Watkins for this robbery.”
Charges of armed robbery have been referred to the Brown County district attorney, and the investigation is ongoing.
