Eugene F. Oswald, age 91, of Valders, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 5, 2021, at his residence.
Eugene was born on July 19, 1929, in the town of Franklin, son of the late Frank and Anna (Muench) Oswald. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On August 16, 1950 he married the former Marjorie Ellig at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2010. Eugene worked at the Kohler Company until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton and a past member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his five children: Diane (Gary) Kliment, Fond du Lac, Paul (Lori) Oswald, Two Rivers, Cindy (Don) Kalista, Manitowoc, Tim (Jean) Oswald, Valders, Rick (Jodi) Oswald, Valders; eleven grandchildren: Kacy (Ashley) Kliment, Krista (Ken) Ward, Paul (Julianne) Oswald, Amanda (Matt) Holschbach, Jonathon Satterburg, Craig Oswald, Ashley Oswald, Brittany (Nate) Schultz, Rebecka Oswald, Meghan (Adam) Geffers, Andrew (Alexandra) Oswald; twelve great-grandchildren: Harriet Kliment, Althea, Etta and Thad Ward, Austin Holschbach and his fiancée Hanah, Emma Holschbach, Allie Holschbach, Arianna Isley-Satterburg, Adalyn, Jackson and Haylee Geffers, Maximilian Oswald; one sister: Elaine Kutil, Two Rivers; one sister-in-law: Virginia Oswald, Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Anna Oswald; two brothers: Cletus Oswald, Sylvan Oswald; two sisters and three brothers-in-law: Verna (George) Shavlik, Beatrice (Ray) Kostechka, Bob Kutil.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. The Rev. David Beaudry will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow in the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Friends and relatives may join a live stream on the Lakeshore Family Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 10:45 AM. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in an effort to keep everyone safe, the family requests that everyone please wear a facemask and practice social distancing.
