There was a bit of good news and a bit of bad news reported by the Manitowoc County Health Department on Friday (March 26th).
First for the bad news, as one more person has died due to complications brought on by COVID-19. This brings the death toll up to 68, a rise of four throughout the month of March.
There were also 12 new cases reported, bringing that total up to 7,345.
In some good news, 1,040 more vaccinations were administered, with 557 being first doses. This brings the total number of shots administered up to 35,994, with 23,015 of those going into the arms of first-time patients.
As of that report, roughly 29.1% of Manitowoc County residents have gotten at least one shot, but it is likely that number rose above 30% over the weekend.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 15 new cases on Friday, alongside 18 new recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,211 confirmed cases, 12,927 recoveries, and leaves 151 cases active.
They did not report any new deaths, leaving that total at 133.
