March is over, and the COVID-19 numbers ended the month looking very good.
Only three new cases were added, leaving the pandemic total at 7,329, while the number of people seeking treatment in area hospitals rose by one to 28. The death toll did not change, staying at 68 for the fourth day in a row.
On the vaccination front, 764 more shots were given out yesterday. 386 of those went into the arms of first-time patients, bringing the total number of shots administered up to 38,923, with 24,359 of those being first doses. 30.8% of County residents have now received at least one dose of vaccine.
The month of March continued to see fewer new cases, as 120 were reported. Compare that to February, where 288 new cases were reported, even though there were three fewer days.
Also, a total of 19,544 vaccine shots were given, with 11,259 of those being first dose shots. The death toll did rise by four throughout the month, however.
In Sheboygan County, there was another minor spike in COVID cases.
21 new cases were reported by the Division of Public Health, alongside only seven recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals at 13,264 confirmed cases, 12,969 recoveries, and 162 cases remain active. Their death toll also did not change, remaining stagnant at 133.
