Manitowoc County entered the Easter Weekend on a good note on the COVID-19 front, as a new vaccination milestone was surpassed.
The 1,546 shots administered on Friday (April 2nd) brought the total number of shots administered up to 41,080, with 26,053 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. In total, 33%, or one-third of County residents have gotten at least one shot.
Also, only 3 new cases were added on Friday, bringing that total up to 7,365, as the death toll remained stagnant at 68 for the sixth straight day.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID did rise by one however up to 32.
In Sheboygan County, there was one more death reported on Friday. This individual was over the age of 80 and brings their death toll up to 134.
The Division of Public Health also reported 4 new cases and 9 recoveries, which brings their pandemic totals up to 13,268 confirmed cases, 12,978 recoveries, and leaves 156 cases active.
