The push toward herd immunity continues in Manitowoc County.
1,139 more vaccinations were administered yesterday (April 8th) in Manitowoc County, with 459 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of vaccinations given out up to 44,738, with 27,905 of those being first dose shots.
That means that 35.6% of County residents have at least received one shot.
There were also 10 new cases added yesterday in the Health Department report. This brings the pandemic total up to 7,384 confirmed cases, while two more people were admitted to area hospitals. That number continues to swell up and down, remaining just above 20 for the past two days, now sitting at 24.
There were no new deaths, leaving the death toll at 68 for the 15th straight day.
In Sheboygan County, there was another relatively large spike of COVID cases yesterday.
The Division of Public Health reported that 31 more people tested positive, while only 9 people recovered. This leaves their pandemic totals at 13,387 confirmed cases, 13,055 recoveries, and leaves 198 cases active.
