Cubs catcher Wilson Contreras says he was sending a message – he’s the wrong guy to throw at.
A two-run homer by Contreras gave Chicago a 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at American Family Field Tuesday night.
The big blast came a few innings after he had been hit by a Brewer pitcher for the third time this season.
Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff was solid, allowing just three hits, a walk, and one earned run in six innings, but he didn’t secure the victory.
Luis Urias accounted for both Milwaukee runs with a second-inning, two-run home run.
The teams play the rubber game of the three-game series this afternoon with Corbin Burnes on the mound for Milwaukee, while Jake Arrieta going for the Cubs. Coverage will begin at 12:05 PM on 107.9 FM WOMT, and at WOMTRadio.com.
