A Brown County circuit judge has decided in favor of a De Pere priest who sued a man for defamation.
The Reverend Jay Fostner had filed the suit over social media posts made by Jason Jerry.
Following the Wednesday ruling, the two parties reached a settlement agreement where the priest will receive only $1 for damages as long as Jerry follows the terms of the agreement.
Jerry must remove of all defamatory statements against Fostner from all publicly accessible platforms.
Jerry has 21 days to get that done – then he can’t repeat the conduct.
he does, he’ll have to pay punitive damages of $100,000 to the priest.
