The COVID-19 numbers from Friday (April 16th) in Manitowoc County continue to show that the end of the pandemic is on the horizon.
Only four more cases were confirmed by the Health Department, leaving that total at 7,419, while the number of people occupying ICU beds in area hospitals rose by one to 33.
There were no new deaths reported, leaving that total at 69 for the last six days.
On the vaccination front, the State failed to supply the latest information to the Health Department on Friday, but we have the latest information as of this morning (April 19th).
According to the Department of Health Services, 2, 347 more shots were administered since Thursday, with 1,074 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. That brings the total number of shots administered in the County up to 52,549, with 31,139 of those being first dose shots.
That means that 39.4% of County residents have gotten at least one shot.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported 17 new cases on Friday. That coupled with 21 recoveries leaves their pandemic totals at 13,520 confirmed cases, 13,208 recoveries, and leaves 178 cases active.
They did not report any new deaths either, leaving that total at 134.
