At least one pro football observer says when the Packers traded up and drafted quarterback Jordan Love, they were really after Brandon Aiyuk – but the 49ers grabbed him first.
Love was the best player remaining, at least that’s the thinking by “Locked On Packers” host Peter Bukowski.
Love’s presence seemed to light a fire under Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers who was coming off a subpar season, at least subpar for Rodgers. Now, the 2020 N-F-L season has made it look like the future Hall of Fame Q-B is good for a few more years.
One rumor – and it’s only a rumor – has the Packers trading Love and a couple of draft picks for the number-15 pick now held by the Patriots. A couple of experts say it isn’t likely to happen, but it does make sense.
If Rodgers is good for three or four more years, Love becomes a wasted asset.
