A man was taken into police custody yesterday (April 21st) after he reportedly entered the Manitowoc Walmart, took some food, and yelled that he was hungry.
Officers were dispatched to the store just before 12:30 PM and located the vehicle that the suspect was seen entering.
The 43-year-old man told police that he has been out of work since the start of the pandemic, and admitted to stealing the food.
The officer also learned that the man has a history of retail theft, as he was responsible for a theft from the Kwik Trip on North 8th Street.
The man was taken into custody on charges of Retail Theft and Felony Bail Jumping.
