Allen C. Hutterer, age 87, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Allen was born on April 12, 1934 in Manitowoc to the late Jerome and Anna (Shimek) Hutterer. He grew up in Rockwood, WI and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1952. On October 22, 1955, Allen married Edna Baumgart at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot. They were married for 62 years until she preceded him in death on May 13, 2019. Allen worked at Manitowoc County Highway Department for 41 years as a grader operator and retired in 1989. He then went on to work part-time at Holschbach Excavating. On his free time, Allen enjoyed collecting antique toy trucks, rummaging, riding around town on his motorcycle, collecting rubber ducks, and watching the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include Allen’s seven children, Brian Hutterer, Julie (Tim Lefeber) Nelson, Peter Hutterer, Lisa Nickisch, Lori (Rick Schneider) Sieracki, Kevin Hutterer, and Keith (Deanna) Hutterer; 14 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; sister, LaVern Hutterer; three sisters-in-law, Katy Jacquart, Jean Zahorik, and Mary (Michael) Siewart; his Late’s and Covered Wagon family; also many other family, friends and neighbors. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Anna Hutterer; wife, Edna; three brothers-in-law, Robert Lee Baumgart, Alvin Zahorik, and Merlin “Jake” Jacquart; two grandchildren, Shawn and Carter.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 202 South Packer Drive, Francis Creek. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Jeff Briones with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the prayer service led by Deacon Alan Boeldt at 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
