Jeanette M. Klein, age 93, formerly of 11223 Morgan Road, Cato, passed away Wednesday evening, April 21, 2021 at Maritime Gardens Assisted Living, Manitowoc.
She was born November 24, 1927 in Cato, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Joseph and Mathilda (Pritzl) Anhalt. Jeanette attended St. Mary Catholic School in Clarks Mills. On July 10, 1948 she married the late Carl Klein at St. Mary Catholic Church in Clarks Mills. Jeanette was employed as a nurses aide at Holy Family Memorial, Manitowoc Clinic, and The Red Cross, retiring in 1993. In her spare time, she volunteered at Franklin Elementary School in Manitowoc. Jeanette loved music, knitting, and gardening. She was a voracious reader and an avid cross-country skier and walker. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and bird watching.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter: Andrea Klein, Oshkosh; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Wilfred Anhalt, Connecticut, and David (Shirley) Anhalt, rural Manitowoc; five sisters and three brothers-in-law: MaryAnn Wotruba, Joan (Merrill) Buck, Phyllis (Robert) Uhrich, Colleen (Roger) Brunner, all of Manitowoc, and Rose Scanlon, Oshkosh; and her four Godchildren: Mark Anhalt, Steven Buck, Carol Kohlman, and Taylor Rose Pamperin. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Carl; her son: Daniel Klein; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Gordon (Betty) Anhalt, Claude (Marie) Anhalt, and Ruth Anhalt; one sister and three brothers-in-law: Charlotte (Wesley) Rovang, Patrick Scanlon, and Gordon Wotruba; as well as other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Following the Mass, Jeanette will be laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Clarks Mills.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Due to Covid-19, guests are asked to wear face masks and practice social distancing. There will also be no funeral luncheon or gathering following the service.
