A 53-year-old Door County woman will be sentenced in July for killing her roommate.
Susan Soukup entered a no-contest plea during a Tuesday hearing. She had pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree intentional homicide in December.
Soukop had told investigators she began obsessing over the idea of killing the victim and she followed through by stabbing her in the neck while she was sleeping.
When the woman started to fight back, Soukup said she stabbed her four or five more times.
Soukop told a 9-1-1 dispatcher she “just did something really terrible” when she called.
