Wisconsin’s governor promises he will announce how he’s going to spend all of the $3.2 billion of federal coronavirus relief funding in a few weeks.
State law gives Governor Tony Evers control over the way that money is used.
He doesn’t have to accept any input from Republicans, who control the Wisconsin Legislature.
Bills have been passed ordering that the money is used to cut property taxes, pay for local road projects, and on other things – but Evers vetoed each measure.
Evers has said talking with Republicans about his plans for spending the money isn’t a “top priority.”
