Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur says he not only loves the player Aaron Rodgers, he also loves the person.
The controversy that exploded late last week has led LaFleur to say he “can’t fathom” Rodgers not being in Green Bay.
A rift between the future Hall of Fame quarterback and general manager Brian Gutekunst started to grow after the Packers drafted Jordan Love in the 2020 N-F-L Draft without notifying Rodgers.
Several reports indicate Rodgers is demanding that Gutekunst be fired. He has also reportedly said he is willing to retire if the team doesn’t agree to trade him.
Meanwhile, the Packers wrapped up a busy 2021 N-F-L Draft by taking six players on Saturday.
Ole Miss guard Royce Newman was taken in the fourth round.
The Packers went for defensive tackle T-J Slaton of Florida in the fifth round, and five picks later, still in the fifth round, the Packers selected Appalachian State cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles.
In the sixth round, Green Bay took hometown athlete and offensive lineman Cole Van Lanen who attended Bay Port High School.
Six picks later, the team returned to its defensive focus by drafting Boston College linebacker Isaiah McDuffie.
And, the final pick was Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill.
