Milwaukee police say more than 300 shots were fired at the Midtown Shopping Center Sunday night.
Two men, 21 and 23 years old, were wounded and they are recovering at a hospital. The first reports started coming in at about 11:30 PM.
Milwaukee Common Council member Cavalier Johnson says he has lived in some of the city’s most depressed neighborhoods and has never heard that many gunshots at once. Johnson says, “People should just calm down.”
Witnesses say a large crowd had gathered at the shopping center parking lot earlier in the day, with an organized water fight and a party-like atmosphere.
