Traffic on Madison’s busy Beltline was shut down during the noon hour Thursday when an apparent road rage incident led to gunfire.
One person was injured, with the first 9-1-1 call coming in at about 12:30 p-m and westbound lanes closed to traffic for a little over two hours.
Witnesses describe seeing several police officers and a police dog looking for evidence on the roadway.
The M-P-D Violent Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.
No names have been released and police haven’t announced any arrests or charges yet.
