Alex Cejka won his first golf tournament in more than six years by edging Wisconsin native Steve Stricker in a playoff Sunday.
Stricker had been at or near the top of the leaderboard all weekend in the Regions Tradition on the P-G-A Champions Tour in Birmingham, Alabama.
Stricker started well Sunday with four birdies on the front nine but had a pair of bogeys on the back.
He hit a clutch shot on 16 to cut Cejka’s lead to one stroke and tied things with a birdie at 18.
Stricker missed on a birdie putt on the extra hole that would have kept him alive for the $2.4 million purse.
