Sandra Alexiz Peck, age 78, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Sandy was born on November 7, 1942 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Garfield and Grace Mrotek Crawford. Sandy attended Lincoln High School where she was on the cheerleading squad and graduated with the class of 1960. She continued her education at Holy Family College, graduating with the first class of teachers obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in 1964. Later Sandy went back to Silver Lake College where she received her Master’s Degree in education. She taught Home Economics at Brandon High School and later at Washington High School in Two Rivers. Sandy then became self employed selling Home Interiors and Gifts locally for many years. On August 19, 1969 she married Erling L. Peck at Lansing, Michigan. Sandy was a member of St. Pauls’ Ev. Lutheran Church, was also a member of the Board of Directors at Holy Family Hospital, and played in the Wednesday local golf leagues. Every morning she would get together for coffee with friends at the Plane View Restaurant, she also enjoyed traveling, photography, shopping and collecting things, and Sandy loved Christmas.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Erling, son, Kerry Peck, Manitowoc, daughter, Kristin (Jeffery) Dittmer, Salem, two grandchildren, Masen and Brycen; two sisters, Candace Handl and Dianne (Roger) Trepasso, both of Manitowoc; one brother, Kevin (Laurie) Crawford, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Grace Crawford.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with Rev. Julie Barger officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and then on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
