Charges have officially been filed against a 58-year-old man after he allegedly started a fire in a storage unit.
Thomas Smith the Second had his bond set at $50,000 cash on charges of Arson, Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Obstruction.
Those charges were for a March 19th incident, where around $400,000 in damage was done to the storage unit located in the 1600 block Stiles Road and its contents, but he is also a suspect in four other arson cases.
Smith did admit to starting the storage unit fire, which was started with cardboard boxes filled with what was termed combustible material.
Assistant District Attorney Jessica Petras mentioned while in court for Smith’s initial appearance that more charges are likely coming.
