Authorities in Iowa County identify the son as the suspect in the death of 54-year-old Susan Pickett.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice is handling the case.
Pickett’s body was found Monday in a home in Avoca after her son called 9-1-1 to report her death.
21-year-old Sean Pickett was still present when authorities arrived and he was taken into custody.
An autopsy will be conducted as the investigation into the woman’s death continues.
Her son made an appearance in Iowa County Circuit Court Wednesday.
