The lawyer representing laid-off Rock County nursing home employees says the notice of claim he has filed is the first step toward a lawsuit.
His clients were laid off for refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Fitchburg attorney Michael Anderson says he is hoping the county will agree to a discussion that could avoid taking the case to court. Anderson says the emergency use authorization for the vaccine changes things. He says, “When something is for emergency use, the law says you can’t force someone to get a shot.”
The county has 120 days to respond to the $500,000 notice of claim.
