A waterfront bar and live music venue in downtown Manitowoc is opening later today (May 19th).
Brennan Seehafer, owner, and operator of The Wharf says people will notice a state-of-the-art retractable roof system.
“90% of our concerts are outdoors,” he explained. “When inclement weather strikes, we don’t want to have to cancel the event.” In fact, Seehafer said they will offer over 70-free concerts along with 8-ticketed events this season.
He added that they have been “working on this specific build for over four years. The temporary shipping containers was just a filler in the meantime. A lot of hard work, a lot of people involved that made this possible, and we are excited for Manitowoc and the surrounding areas to experience The Wharf.”
Also new this year is a full-kitchen through an agreement with Broken Plate Catering and they’re offering coastal-type food.
Seehafer explains that a nautical theme with Manitowoc historical ties is very evident at his facility which is now open year-round.
“Most recently we are featuring the Charles C West full-scale replica of the ship that was built by Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company in 1925,” Seehafer told us. “That’s kind of our centerpiece about our facility. Along with that, we have numerous anchors and nautical memorabilia that is spread out throughout the property.”
The Wharf opens for season 3 this afternoon at 3:00 o’clock with their Live Music Calendar starting this Friday night with The Glam Band.
