With Memorial Day just around the corner, cities in the area are being forced to come to a decision, will they or will they not hold a parade?
Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley tells Seehafer News that a decision has been made for the Cool City.
“There will not this year be a Memorial Day parade in Two Rivers,” he said. “That was a decision made by the veterans’ groups with remaining COVID concerns. The City respects and supports that, just as we always respect and support whatever our local veterans’ groups think is appropriate for Memorial Day.”
There will still be a reading of the honor roll and tolling of the bell ceremony. That will take place in front of City Hall in Central Park at 9:00 AM, along with the ceremonial firing of the rifles.
Buckley said, “The Honor Guard will then proceed to offer that ceremonial volley at the old cemetery (Pioneer Rest) and the new cemetery (Forrest View/Holy Crossout on Forrest Avenue and then on Mishicot Road later that morning.”
More information on the Memorial Day celebrations can be found on the Two Rivers City Hall Facebook page.
