The stats guys and their metrics tell us what we already know – the Milwaukee Brewers need to score more runs.
The team’s Weighted Runs Created is 81 – where 100 is average – and only one Major League Baseball team is lower. That means the Brewers are wasting a lot of good pitching this season during the 21-and-22 start.
Of course, nobody thought Christian Yelich would have no homers and one R-B-I after 43 games.
The front office added just two significant players in the off-season, Kolten Wong and Jackie Bradley Junior, who have never been known for their offense.
The defense is adequate and starters Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Freddy Peralta have been excellent.
With no trades in the works, the improvement is going to have to come from within.
Milwaukee starts a weekend series at Cincinnati tonight (May 21st) at 6:10 PM.
