The COVID-19 related numbers reported by the Manitowoc County Health Department on Friday (May 21st) paint an optimistic picture for the future.
Only five new cases were reported, bringing the pandemic total to 7,609, while no new deaths were added, and the number of people hospitalized remained unchanged. The death toll still sits at 71, while 27 people are hospitalized in the area.
On the vaccination front, 497 more shots were administered, with 257 of those being first dose shots. That brings the total number of vaccinations up to 64,498, with 34,629 of those going into the arms of first-time patients.
Things look equally optimistic in Sheboygan County.
The Division of Public Health reported only four new cases on Friday, alongside the same number of recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,787 confirmed cases, 13,564 recoveries, and leaves 80 active cases.
Their death toll also remained unchanged at 143.
