Robert (Bob) J Rosinsky passed away on Monday May 17, 2021 surrounded by his children in Tucson, AZ. Bob was born Jan. 17, 1925 in Manitowoc, WI to Harry and Orea (Kramer) Rosinsky. He attended Manitowoc Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1945. Bob enlisted in the US Army and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon returning to Manitowoc he married his high school sweetheart Betty J. Kelnhofer on Jan. 31, 1948. They celebrated 70 years of marriage together. She preceded him in death on February 22, 2018.
Robert attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and later went on to receive his Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.
He began his elementary teaching career in Marinette, WI and returned to Manitowoc where he taught 6th grade at Garfield, McKinley, Rapids, and Madison schools. He was the first principal of Stangel Elementary School and finished his education career as the principal of Madison School. Bob often stated that he never had a day that he didn’t enjoy going to work with kids. After their retirement Bob and Betty enjoyed many years of volunteer work in Manitowoc, traveling with friends, and visiting their children and grandchildren. They moved to Tucson, AZ in July 2017 to be closer to family in their remaining years.
Bob is survived by his children Bob (Ruth) of Bradenton, FL, Jill (Paul) of Savannah, GA, Peggy (Greg) of Tucson, AZ and Carrie (Rick) of Tucson, AZ. He was blessed with eight grandchildren Mindy, Erik, Justin, Lucas, Beau, Robert, Brianna, and Kaylana and 15 and ½ great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his youngest sister Judy Kaye of Two Rivers, Wi. Bob was proceeded in death by his parents Harry and Orea, his wife Betty, his son Jon, his five brothers, David, Richard, Don, Wayne, Paul and his two sisters Mary Ann and Joanne.
Funeral services for Bob will be held 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 12 p.m.
