No one is surprised that Aaron Rodgers was a no-show for the first day of organized team activities (O-T-As) in Green Bay, but it could cost him some bonus money because he’s one of the players with offseason workouts built into his contract.
.The 2020 M-V-P has reportedly said he doesn’t want to return to the Packers and the team has no intention of trading Rodgers.
Number-12 could face huge fines if he doesn’t report for mandatory minicamp on June 1st.
Second-year Q-B Jordan Love is taking the first-team reps for now. Green Bay also signed veteran Blake Bortles and Kurt Benkert as back-ups.
Also, the Packers are parting way with reserve cornerback KeiVarae Russell.
G-M Brian Gutenkunst announced the release of Russell on the first day of team workouts.
He joined the Pack in Week 8 last year and spent most of the time on the practice squad. Russell appeared in one regular season contest and both playoff games.
He was drafted out of Notre Dame by the Chiefs in 2016.
