Mayor Justin Nickels says there will be a Memorial Day Parade in Manitowoc this year starting at 9:00 AM.
Mayor Nickels told Seehafer News that “The parade will follow the route it historically has starting at the corner of Eighth and Washington heading north to Huron Street then west on Huron To Michigan Avenue and ending on 18th Street.”
The Memorial Day Ceremony will follow the parade, and as Nickels explained, “will be held at the Veterans Memorial located on North 18th Street across from Evergreen Cemetery. In case of rain, it’ll be held indoors at the Citizens Park Recreation Center at 10:30 a.m.”
In case of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 8 a.m. on whether to cancel.
Mayor Nickels adds “As we celebrate this holiday and the unofficial beginning to summer Let’s not forget the reason for Memorial Day as we pay tribute to the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can be with friends and family.”
