Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduate Eric Fogltanz will be traveling to Eugene, Oregon next week for the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
The former Ships athlete who is competing for Iowa State University ran a personal best time of 50.09 seconds by placing 4th Saturday (May 29th) in his heat for the 400-meter hurdles at the West Regionals in College Station, Texas.
Eric’s time was fast enough to qualify for the NCAA championships scheduled for June 9ththrough the 12th.
The son of Don and Mary Fogltanz of Manitowoc was granted an additional season of competition like other college seniors due to the COVID-related cancellation of last year’s outdoor track & field season.
With that extra year of competing for the Cyclones, Eric was also able to earn a Masters Degree in Human-Computer Interaction on the heels of last year’s Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design
