An outside law enforcement agency is investigating a Sunday night incident where a Milwaukee police officer shot an armed suspect to death.
Reports indicate the 49-year-old man was fatally wounded when he refused to put his gun down.
Officers were responding to a report of a person firing a gun.
The man was spotted on the front porch of a house at about 10:30 p-m.
Officers say he quickly ran to the back porch and that’s where he was shot.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
The Milwaukee officer with six years’ experience has been placed on administrative leave.
Waukesha police are investigating.
