A man accused of stabbing an Appleton police officer last year has been bound over for trial.
Troy VanGrinsven will return to the courtroom Thursday (June 3rd) for arraignment.
There are indications a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect might be entered at that time.
A judge ruled last week he is competent to stand trial.
VanGrinsven faces four charges, including attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
Investigators say he attacked Sergeant Tyrell West outside the police headquarters on March 31st of last year.
West and another officer were injured while VanGrinsven was brought under control.
