Ann J. Dier, age 71, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday evening, May 25, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born in Two Rivers on July 2, 1949 to Louis and Mary (Deprey) Lesperance. She attended St. Mark’s Catholic School and graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1967. On November 14, 1970, she was united in marriage to James A. Dier at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple was blessed with two children and 50 years of marriage. Ann and Jim enjoyed many years traveling together and also enjoyed taking trips to casinos where she loved to play bingo. Over the years, Ann worked for Paragon Electric, Mirro Aluminum, Goodwill Industries, and retired from Suettinger Hardware after many years. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Society of Two Rivers, and very active with the Ladies of St. Peter the Fisherman, the Ladies Honor Guard, and the Knights of Columbus. Ann also loved her flowers, reading, and enjoyed word puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, James Dier; daughter & son-in-law, Melissa (James) Rafferty of Missoula, Montana; one son, Jamie Dier of Escanaba, Michigan; three grandchildren, Hannah Rafferty, Noah and Ava Dier; one sister, Darlene (Warren) Waier of Sheboygan; one sister-in-law, Rosemary Lesperance of Algoma; and other in-laws: Francis Dier, Paul (Brigitte) Dier, and Jerry (Betty) Nemec. She is further survived by her nieces & nephews: Robin (Randy) Ruback, Lee (Lynette) Tullberg, Penny (Glenn) Busch, David (Nikki) Tullberg, Dawn (Bill) Scott, Scott (Kelly) Waier, SuLynn Kostichka, Shelia (Jake) Blahnik, Mary (Harry) John, Michael (Kris) Nemec, and Kandi (Mark) Anhalt; along with special friends: Barry & Nancy Rafferty, JoAnn Pelnar, The Breakfast Girls, Card Club, and the Lunch Bunch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Lesperance; father & mother-in-law, Alex and Julia Dier; one brother, David Lesperance; one sister, JoAnn (Donald) Tullberg; and in-laws, Anthony Dier, Lynda Dier and Margaret Nemec.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Rev. Dave Pleier will officiate at the service, with burial of her cremains to follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Friday, June 11th from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m.
