A father facing a charge of reckless homicide in his two-year-old son’s death has made an initial court appearance.
39-year-old Caleb Schachtschneider says the boy was hurt when he fell while sitting in his father’s lap on top a skid steer.
The victim’s head was crushed in the equipment.
Two other sons were injured in accidents on the farm near St. Lawrence in the last four years.
If Schachtschneider is convicted on the top charge, he could be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
