A pair of athletes at the University of Wisconsin have been honored for their academic achievements.
Sydney Hilley of the Badgers volleyball team and Matt Henningsen of the football team were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District teams.
The honors were announced Thursday.
It’s the second time Hilley has been selected and the first time for Henningsen.
National honorees will be announced next month.
To qualify for the All-District teams the Wisconsin duo had to have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher and be a starter or important reserve on their team.
Both have graduated with honors from U-W-Madison.
