Speculation in Washington D.C. has our President and Vice President at odds with one another.
Sixth District Congressman Glenn Grothman tells Seehafer News that possibly could be a reason that the crisis at the Mexican Border has gotten out of control.
“Joe Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of the border and it’s the biggest crisis facing the today,” he said. “We believe 3,000 to 4,000 people are coming into the country every day and Kamala Harris has yet to meet with the Border Patrol. I’ve visited them three times this year alone and you don’t know what’s going on down there until you have spoken with them and see it for yourself.”
Grothman feels that Harris has yet to visit the border because she has aspirations to run for President in 2024 and not jeopardize the “soft approach on immigration taken by the core of the Democratic Party.’
Grothman said, “No one can tell me that at the time Joe Biden gave her that responsibility he ever dreamed she’d go seven weeks without visiting the Mexican border and speaking to the Border Patrol. We’ve all made hiring mistakes and if I were Joe (Biden) I would say you are still Vice President but I’m going to appoint someone else because you have shown that you aren’t capable of doing it or want to do it.”
The Border Patrol says 180,000 encounters occurred with those looking to cross at the Southwest Border in May, a 21-year high for that month. As of May, almost 712,000 have tried to cross into America this year alone.
For perspective, there were nearly 922,000 encounters in all of 2019 and a little over 590,000 in 2018.
The local legislator adds “If something isn’t done immediately we will lose this country and may never be able to get it back.”
