Louis “Louie” M. Hranicka, age 68, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Louie was born on December 28, 1952 in Milwaukee to the late Richard and Rita (Stephani) Hranicka. After graduating from Roncalli High School with the class of 1971, Louie went on to attend Fox Valley Technical College where he obtained his Associates Degree in Conservation Technology. He then began working at The Left End Supper Club and then travelled with Murphy Shows Carnival where he worked in the cookhouse with his best friend Lonn. Louie spent the balance of his working career at Manitowoc Cranes where he worked for 45 years until his retirement. On November 2, 2005, Louie married Sara Tadych at Excalibur in Las Vegas, NV. Louie was quite the character and brought many laughs to the people he knew. His love of the outdoors began in the Boy Scouts as a child, and that in turn led to his love of hunting, fishing with Bill and other friends, and camping. Louie also liked playing cards with his sheepshead buddies and pressing his luck with gambling. Above all, Louie enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
Survivors include Louie’s wife, Sara; three children, Jillian (Thomas) Lyons, Two Rivers; Cassondra Hranicka, Greenleaf; and Ashley Graykowski and her significant other, Sean Simpson, Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Jordyn and Journey Tadych, and Jaedynn Simpson; five sisters, Diane (Tony) Hornyak, Manitowoc; Karen (Tony) Ruelle, Two Rivers; Sandy “Squeaky” Gazaille, Massachusetts; Mary Klein, Manitowoc; and Anne Hranicka, Manitowoc; brother, George Hranicka, Manitowoc; mother-in-law, Bernice Tadych, Manitowoc; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law to include: Bernice “Jean” Tadych, Louise Gomm, Jeff (Diana) Tadych, and Gertie Tadych, all of Manitowoc; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rita Hranicka; brother, Michael Hranicka; and grandson, Zander Louis Lyons.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with cremation to take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel at a later date. Following the funeral service, a dinner for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
