Milwaukee police say a 27-year-old woman accidentally shot herself in the leg during a large street fight last weekend.
The victim is expected to survive the incident that happened Saturday morning. Her name hasn’t been released. Police say she was taken into custody and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Police handled a fatal shooting in the same downtown area a week ago.
Local business owners are asking city leaders to accelerate efforts to control violence in the area.
