The jury has begun deliberations in the murder trial of an Appleton man accused of murdering a Manitowoc man and his daughter nearly three years ago.
Three days of testimony and closing arguments wrapped up Thursday in the trial of Karl Hess who’s facing two counts of First-Degree Intentional Homicide with Use of a Dangerous Weapon in the deaths of Richard and Jocelyn Miller at their home on Dale Street in Manitowoc in September 2018 and arrested for the crimes in early 2019.
Hess did take the stand in his own defense Thursday with the original motive purportedly being money that Hess allegedly knew was in the Miller residence. He’ll face a mandatory life sentence if convicted on either count.
