The Brewers and Cubs were tied at four runs apiece when Milwaukee exploded for 10 runs in the eighth inning Monday.
The 14-4 rout of second-place Chicago expanded the Brewers’ lead in the National League Central Division standings to four games.
Devin Williams got the win in relief.
Freddy Peralta started and held the Cubs to two hits and two runs in six innings. He left leading 4-2, but the bullpen gave up the lead.
Willy Adames and Keston Hiura each had three-run homers in the big eighth-inning rally.
It was Milwaukee’s sixth straight win.
