Authorities in Dodge County say a man handling fireworks last weekend was injured so severely he had to be airlifted to a Madison hospital.
Emergency responders were called to a home in the Town of Lowell Saturday at about 7:15 p-m.
The 55-year-old man had suffered serious injuries to his hands and stomach.
He hasn’t been identified.
Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt is using the injury incident to remind people about the state laws governing what types of fireworks they are allowed to have without a permit.
Schmidt didn’t say if the injured man was cited.
