The state Department of Administration will hand out one-point-four million dollars in grants through the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program.
Forty communities will receive the grants that are intended to improve quality of life, promote economic development, and improve Great Lakes resources in those locations.
Local, state, and tribal governments, regional planning commissions, universities, and nonprofit organizations are eligible.
The Coastal Management Program is funding by the federal government.
