Well over 70-golfers signed up for the first of what is hoped to be an annual fundraiser benefiting Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer.
WOMT’s Sports Talk with Greg Anderson, Brian Norton and John Johnson hosted the inaugural MACC (mac) event Monday at Autumn Ridge Golf Club near Valders.
The MACC Fund was started 44-years ago by former Bucks player Jon McGlocklin and the team’s long-time broadcaster Eddie Doucette.
MACC Fund President and CEO Becky Pinter appeared at the golf outing and praised the local effort saying, “We are so appreciative. That is incredible for a first-time event, almost $10,000. We can’t say enough.”
Pinter was also very pleased with the surroundings.
“It’s an incredible place,” she told Seehafer News. “This is the first time I have been out here, and everybody has been so warm and welcoming. The course is simply gorgeous.”
Pinter explained that when the MACC Fund began the recovery rate from childhood cancer was just 20-percent, but that has grown to slightly over 90-percent currently.
Fundraising continues in 2021 to help out families of children still afflicted by cancer. You can donate by visiting MACCFund.org.
