A man who was working at the Henry Vilas Zoo at the time says the director sexually assaulted him while they attended a conference three years ago. Ronda Schwetz is on voluntary leave following the accusation.
Schwetz was married and the man was in a serious relationship when the incident allegedly happened during a trip to Seattle. The victim says Schwetz groped him and grabbed his private parts in a hotel room.
He says she was very drunk and upset because the zoo had failed an accreditation. When he tried to console her, she said she wanted to have sex with him and touched him inappropriately.
The man’s name hasn’t been released.
